Latest Updates in Nick Adenhart Drunk Driving Accident

Just recently, the Los Angeles Angels new rookie pitcher Nick Adenhard was killed by a drunk driver; along with several of his close friends. Unfortunately the drunk driver was an underage driver. The normal california BAC level (blood alcohol level) is .08 for a driver over the age of 21 years. The underage driver of the other vehicle had alcohol in her system, however the driver was under 21 years old.  The underage 20 year old driver was also killed in the accident. These BAC levels for the underage driver apparently proved to be under the legal limit for an adult.  The drunk driver of the other vehicle was the one causing the accident to happen; and in turn also killed the rising baseball star Nick Adenhart.

This terrible night left 3 young individuals deceased and another person was severely injured. After Adenhart lead his team to victory, he went out with several of his friends for some drinks.  Once the group was done drinking, three other people joined Nick in the car that evening.  After finishing their drinks they all proceeded to drive around within Orange County; and the accident occured at a high rate of speed severely damaging both vehicles.  Three of the four passengers lost their lives immediately. The fourth passenger sustained very serious injuries that left him in extremely serious shape for a period of time.  He is now beginning to recover from these injuries.

To make matters worse, the person driving drunk in a van fled from the accident and attempted to run away from the scene. He was in the van with his step brother when the accident occurred. In court, the stepbrother confessed that the drunk driver told him to leave the scene. The stepbrother refused and stayed where he was until police arrived. The driver, however, ran from the accident. Upon his departure, the man did call for help, but took no other initiative to determine the health, wellbeing, and condition of those he had just hit with his vehicle. Police found the man and have arrested him on charges of murder and fleeing the scene of an collision.

Unfortunately, these types of drunk driving accidents similar to this are happening all over the United States each day.
